Code Breaker

Code Breaker is a logic puzzle solving game. The object is to guess the code hidden by the shaded blocks at the bottom of the screen. The code is made up of the Code Breaker symbols shown on the right of the screen.

¨ To Choose a Skill Level …

Step 1: Select on the Zaurus' application palette or keyboard.

Step 2: Select the desired level by touching the appropriate box on the sub-menu. The level for the current puzzle will be displayed in the top right portion of the screen.

¨ To Play …

Step 1: Starting with the box in the top left hand corner, fill in the symbols across the line. Do this by touching the symbol icons on the right side of the screen in the order you want them to appear in the corresponding boxes. You can change the symbol in any given box in the row by moving to that box and touching the symbol icon you wish to appear in that box. Alternatively, you can just touch the square whose symbol you want to change and then choose the desired symbol.

Note: You can move back and forth across boxes by touching the right and left arrows marked Slot on the right side of the screen.

Step 2: Check your code by touching on the right side of the screen. The Zaurus will respond by drawing a series of black and white dots directly to the right of your guess. Black dots indicate that a correct symbol is in its appropriate slot. White dots indicate that a correct symbol is present but in a wrong slot in that row. The order of the black and white dots, however, is not related to the order of the correct or incorrect code shapes.

Step 3: Incorporate this feedback to formulate your next attempt. Follow the same procedure outlined above for each row. You have ten chances to break the code.

If you wish to end a current game and view the solution to the puzzle, touch on the bottom right portion of the screen. Then, touch to begin a new puzzle on the same difficulty level, or to exit Code Breaker.

Develop your own strategy to master this challenging game -- Good Luck!

¨ To Exit …

Touch to exit Code Breaker and return to the main game screen.
