Domination

Domination

Domination is a strategy game in which the players attempt to fill the board with their game pieces while preventing their opponent from doing the same. The object of the game is to end up with more game pieces than your opponent. The game is over when neither player can make a move, i.e., when the board is full, or if one player has been eliminated. The player with the most game pieces on the board at the end of the game is the winner.

¨ To Begin …

GAMEPack includes both one and two-player Domination. To play against the Zaurus, choose the "One Player" option from the Main Menu screen. To play against a human opponent, choose the "Two Player" option. The Domination game screen will then be displayed.

When playing against the Zaurus (One Player), there are two skill levels to choose from, Easy and Difficult.

¨ To Choose a Skill Level …

Step 1: Select on the Zaurus' Application Palette.

Step 2: Choose one of the two level options that are displayed: Easy or Difficult.

To Activate Dots …

In addition to the on-screen game instructions, Domination also includes a Dots feature. This will display dots indicating potential moves. If you need to familiarize yourself with Domination strategy, you may want to use this feature for the first few games.

Step 1: Select .

Step 2: Select the desired option on the pop-up menu.

¨ One Player Game

When playing Domination against the Zaurus, your game pieces are white. The Zaurus will indicate when it is your turn by displaying the words Your Move on the screen. It will also continually update and display the score (the number of pieces of each color on the board) for YOU and the MACHINE on the right hand side of the screen. The object is to convert all game pieces to white by flanking the Zaurus' black game pieces between two of your own. When this occurs, all of the Zaurus' black game pieces that lie horizontally, vertically, or diagonally in line between the piece you just placed and any other white pieces will be converted from black to white. Continue placing your game pieces on the board until the entire game grid is filled, neither player can make a legal move, or until all of one player's pieces have been eliminated.

¨ Two Player Game

When playing Domination against a human opponent, Player One controls the white pieces, while Player Two controls the black ones. The Zaurus will indicate each player's turn to move by displaying Player One or Player Two on the right hand side of the screen as well as the current score. The same game rules described above for One Player Domination apply.

¨ To Win …

When neither player has a move, the player with the most game pieces on the grid is the winner. The Zaurus will display the final score on the right side of the screen. A player can also win by eliminating all of the other player's pieces from the board.

High Scores

The GAMEPack keeps track or the highest score from game to game. If you beat the previous high score, the GAMEPack will inform you at the end of the game.

To Clear High Scores …

Step 1: Select on the Zaurus' Application Palette.

Step 2: Choose the Reset High Scores option.

¨ To Exit …

Touch to exit Domination and return to the main game screen.
