PC-FlashCard is a Windows program that works very much like Z-FLASH. It allows you to create, edit and review stacks, then transfer them to and from your Zaurus.Opening PC-FlashCard To run the program, double-click the PC-FlashCard icon on your PC screen. Creating a new stack 1. Click on the NEW button, found on the toolbar at the top of the screen.
2. Type in the information for Side A of the first card.
3. Press the Tab key to move to the text box for Side B of the card. Type in the appropriate information.
4. Click on the Add button to the right of the editing window.
5. Repeat steps 2-4 for all the cards in the stack.
6. When you have added the last card, click on Close. A window will appear asking of you would like to save the stack. Click OK. The Save window will appear. Give the stack nay name up to eight characters. (Do not change the .fcl suffix -- PC-FlashCard uses this to identify a file as a stack.) Converting a text file into a card stack If the information you want to review already exists in a word processing file, you can save typing time by converting that file into a stack of cards.
1. Using your word processing program, format the information this way: [Text for Side A],[Text for Side B]<RETURN> [Text for Side A],[Text for Side B]<RETURN> [Text for Side A],[Text for Side B]<RETURN> " " " (Do not place a <RETURN> after the last card.)
2. Save the file as an ASCII (text) file and give it the suffix .CSV.(PC-FlashCard uses this suffix to identify a text file that can be converted to a stack.)
3. In the FlashCard-PC program, from the File menu select Drill List. Open the text file you created.
4. The information will now appear in flash card format.
5. From the File menu, select Save As. Save the information as an .FCL file.
Note: PC-FlashCard comes with four sample ASCII .CSV text files formatted for conversion to flash cards. They are located in the ruppsoft\pcflash\card subdirectory of your PC. Editing a stack 1. To add or change cards in a stack, click on the EDIT tool button, then choose a stack to edit from the Open window.
