Editing & Arranging Card Stacks

After you study with Z-FLASH for a while, you may need to manipulate stacks. For instance, if you have created separate stacks for each week’s quiz in your Spanish class, you may wish to merge all of these stacks together to study for your final exam. There are several methods you can use to rearrange your card stacks.

How to change the name of a stack

1. Touch the VIEWS icon and select Title.

2. From the Title Screen, highlight the stack name you want to change.

3. Touch the EDIT icon and select Stack Info.

4. Type in the stack’s new name and touch DONE.

How to delete a stack

1. Touch the VIEWS icon and select Title.

2. From the Title Screen, touch the stack you want to delete.

3. Press DEL on your keyboard, or touch the EDIT icon and select Delete Stack.

How to duplicate a stack

1. Touch the VIEWS icon and select Title. Touch the stack you want to duplicate.

2. Touch the EDIT icon and select Duplicate Stack.

3. Type in the name for the duplicate stack, then use the menu bar to indicate whether the duplicate stack will contain all the cards from the original, only the tagged or only the untagged cards. When you are done touch Duplicate.

How to merge stacks together

1. Touch the VIEWS icon and select Title.

2. From the Title Screen, highlight the stack that will be merged into another stack (i.e., the stack that will not contain all the merged cards).

3. Touch the EDIT icon and select Merge Stack Into.

4. Highlight the stack that will receive the merged cards and touch MERGE. This stack will now contain its own cards plus the cards that were merged into it.

Example — To merge the five stacks you created for your weekly quizzes into one stack that you can use to study for your final:

1. From the Title screen, highlight the stack for Week 1, then touch the EDIT icon and select Duplicate.

2. Rename the duplicate stack "Final Exam."

3. From the title screen, highlight the stack for Week 2, then touch EDIT and select Merge Stacks.

4. Highlight "Final Exam" and touch Merge. The "Final Exam" stack now contains the cards for both Week 1 and Week 2.

5. Repeat steps 3 & 4 for the remaining weeks, until all the stacks have been merged into "Final Exam."

Deleting Cards

You can delete individual cards while you are in either Index or Drill mode. To delete a card, select it and press DEL on your keyboard.
