Z-FLASH has three basic viewing modes: Title, Index and Drill. To move from one mode to another, touch the Views icon at the upper left of the screen. Title Mode The first time you use the program, the Title screen will appear, showing the "Help" card stack that is installed with the program. Opening a Stack To open a card stack from the Title screen, touch the appropriate icon. Index Mode When you open a stack, the Index screen will appear. This screen contains two columns, showing the first few words on Side A and Side B of each card in the stack. You can scroll up and down the index by touching the scroll bar to the right of the screen, or by pressing the PREV and NEXT keys on your Zaurus. Tagging cards in Index mode To identify a card for extra review, touch the box to the left of the entry, highlighting it with an "X." How to go to Drill mode To enter Drill mode, touch any card once to highlight it. Then touch it a second time, or press ENTER, to display it in drill mode. You can also use the up and down arrows to select a specific card to display. Drill Mode In Drill mode, you can see the "front" and "back" of each card in the stack. The name of the stack appears in the upper left corner of the screen. The total number of cards and the position of the displayed card in the stack appears in the upper right corner. If a card contains a long question or answer, you may need to use the scroll bar to the right of each box to read the entire entry. Reviewing the cards in the stack Touch the Navigation icons at the upper right of the screen to move through the stack. You can move to the Previous or Next card in the stack, or to the First or Last card in the stack. Tagging a card To identify a card for extra review, touch the Tagged box at the right of the screen to highlight it with an "X." Hiding one side of the card Use the Show Next box at the bottom right of the screen to specify whether you want to see only Side A, only Side B, or both sides of the card as you move through the stack. Write-protecting a card Each card is automatically write-protected after it is saved, so that its contents can’t be changed. To edit a card, touch the Pencil icon at the upper left of the screen, removing the line that was over the icon. To write-protect the card, touch the Pencil icon again to put a line through it.
