Installation

The Z-FLASH diskette contains installation programs for both the Z-FLASH application for your Zaurus, and the PC-Flashcard program for your PC.

How to install Z-FLASH on your Zaurus

Note: You can load the program into your Zaurus’ Main memory, or on an SRAM PC Card. (Note: The program cannot be installed to a FLASH ROM PC card.)

1. To begin, connect the Zaurus to your PC with a PC link cable or an infrared adapter.

2. Touch the TOOLS accessory button, then touch the PC Link icon and Select. Touch either the the Cable or Wireless icon and OK. Your Zaurus screen will display that the PC Link is ready.

3. Insert the program diskette into your PC.

From Windows 95...

Select Run from the Start menu, then type a:install or b:install and click OK. Follow the instructions on your PC screen.

From Windows 3.1 or earlier...

Type Alt-F4 to quit Windows and get a DOS prompt. NOTE: Do not run the Install program from the Windows File Manager. Follow the instructions for installing from DOS, below.

From DOS...

a. If necessary, type A: or B:, then <Enter> to get the DOS prompt of the drive where the disk resides.

b. Type INSTALL and <Enter>. Then follow the instructions on your PC screen.

Launching Z-FLASH

Touch the MORE accessory button on your Zaurus, then touch the Z-FLASH icon twice to run the program.

Installing PC FlashCard on your PC

1. Insert the program diskette into your PC.

From Windows 95...

Select Run from the Start menu, then type a:setup or b:setup and click OK. Follow the instructions on your PC screen.

From Windows 3.1 or earlier...

From the Program Manager, select Run from the File menu, then type a:setup or b:setup and click OK. Follow the instructions on your PC screen.

Launching PC--FlashCard

Double-click the PC-FlashCard icon on your PC screen to run the program.
