When you click a button in the Application column of the Application selection screen, select the Zaurus application(s) to communicate with the corresponding Act! application.
The Application button is particularly important for the Contact information being synchronized, imported and exported between the Zaurus and Act!. Since Zaurus maintains three contact files, and three data files, which can be used as contact files, SynchroLynx needs information about what contact information to synchronize, import and export. Select which Zaurus contact and data files you want to synchronize with Act! by checking them in the far left corner. Click the Change button to specify specific information that SynchroLynx needs to synchronize multiple Zaurus contact files with a single Act! contact file. Application Mapping for Zaurus Application After clicking the Change button from the Application Mapping screen, you can modify this information.
ACT! DB Name Enter the name of the Act! database with which you want to communicate data with your Zaurus. User Name If your Act! database is a multi-user database, supply the user name for the Act! database here. Password If your Act! database is a multi-user database, supply the password to access the Act! database here. Group Name When synchronizing, importing or exporting multiple contact files, you must specify to communicate each contact file with a different Act! group. For each contact file, supply the group here. For more information on Act! groups, see the documentation which accompanies Act!. Multiple Contact Files in Zaurus To maintain synchronization between several Zaurus contact files with Act!, SynchroLynx makes use of the Act! Groups. Each Zaurus contact file is synchronized with (or imported to) one Act! Group. For instance, you use three contact files on the Zaurus. Perhaps you call them Customers (1), Sales Leads (2) and Personal (3). You select to Store Zaurus Contact 1 in Act! Group Customers . For each person entered in the Customer contact file on the Zaurus, the corresponding Act! entry will be in Group "Customer." In this manner, SynchroLynx can synchronize changes between Zaurus and Act!. Default Field Mapping in Act! 3.0 When SynchroLynx is installed, a set of default field maps is defined for you: Appointment
