¨ Synchronize The Synchronize screen allows you to select the Zaurus and Schedule+ components you want to synchronize (Contacts, Appointments, or To Do's). You can choose Zaurus components by selecting the appropriate check boxes. When you have chosen the components you wish to synchronize,
select Finish and the synchronization process will begin. Or you
may further customize the synchronization process. You can map fields and
personalize settings by selecting Next on the Synchronize screen. Note: SynchroLynx does not automatically transfer recurring To Do's and multi-day or recurring Appointments from Schedule+ to your Zaurus. For information on handling multi-day or recurring Appointments or To Do's, please turn to "Limitations" on page 22 of this manual. ¨ Map Fields The Map Fields screen allows you to link data fields in Schedule+ with similar fields in your Zaurus and tells SynchroLynx which data to synchronize. SynchroLynx provides you with default map fields for Contacts, Appointments, and To Do's. These map fields link similar data fields in Schedule+ and your Zaurus. For example, "Position" in your Zaurus' Business component is mapped to "Title" under Schedule+'s Contacts component. SynchroLynx also allows for multiple field links. For example, "First Name" and "Last Name" data fields in Schedule+ are mapped to the single data field "Name" in your Zaurus. SynchroLynx mapping defaults link Schedule+'s Contacts component with your Zaurus' Business component; however, you may change your Zaurus' Business component to Contacts 2, Contacts 3, User File 1, User File 2, or User File 3 (select Advanced Settings on the Personalize Settings screen). The Appointments and To Do components are directly linked in both applications. SynchroLynx's default field maps are listed below under each component. Schedule+ field names are listed in the left column. The corresponding Zaurus fields are listed in the right column. Schedule+ Zaurus Contacts Business First name + Last name = Name Title = Position Company = Company Department = Department Business phone = Office # Fax/phone = Fax # Home phone = Home # Mobile phone = Mobile # Business address + Business city + Business state + Business postal code = Address Schedule+ Zaurus Appointments Appointments Start date = Start date Start time = Start time End time = End time Description + Tentative = Description Reminder = Alarm Reminder time = Alarm time Schedule+ Zaurus To Do's To Do's End date = Due date Description = Description Project = Label Priority = Priority Private = Secret Done = Done If you wish to change these field maps to better suit your needs, you may create new links in two ways.
More detailed information on field mapping is available
in online help. Once, you are finished modifying your field maps, select
Next to go the Personalize Settings screen, or select Finish
to synchronize your data. Note: Schedule+ treats recurring and multi-day Appointments and recurring To Do's differently than your Zaurus. Turn to "Limitations" on page 22 of this manual for more information on how SynchroLynx treats multiday and recurring events. ¨ Personalize Settings SynchroLynx provides you with basic default settings. However, these settings may be changed. On the Personalize Settings screen, you may indicate:
To change any of these settings, select the adjacent radio button. To modify more advanced settings, such as the number of Zaurus Contacts files you wish to synchronize, select Advanced Settings on the Personalize Settings screen. More information on changing these settings is available in the online help file. Select Next to go to the Finish screen, or select Finish to begin the synchronization process. ¨ Finish The Finish screen reminds you to place your Zaurus in PC-Link Mode. Selecting Finish initiates the synchronization process. SynchroLynx checks Schedule+ and your Zaurus for any modifications or additions and synchronizes the data in both. If conflicts arise during synchronization, they are either
reported or resolved automatically, depending on your settings on the Personalize
Settings screen. Note: SynchroLynx will not recognize any record
changes that are not saved on your Zaurus. Remember to save all changes
on your Zaurus before synchronizing. This manual is Copyright © 1997 by RuppSoft, LLC. All Rights Reserved. It may not be reproduced without the express written consent of RuppSoft, LLC. |
