Transferring Data To and From Your PC

1. From the Main Toolbar, click the Transfer Files button. The Transfer Files window will appear.

2. Make sure that your hand-held unit is properly linked to your PC. (If you are using a Zaurus, make sure you are in PC Link mode.) If you have not already configured the Link Setup, follow the instructions on page 00 and do so now.

3. In the right window, you will find folders that correspond to each application of your hand-held unit. In the left window, you will see corresponding folders that represent the data stored in your PC. The menu and screen buttons let you select all the parameters of the transfer.

4. Select the data you wish to transfer. For instance, if you are transferring files from your hand-held unit, use the window on the right. If you are transferring files from your PC, use the window on the left.

To select one application: click on it (i.e. "Contacts").

To select a range of applications: click on the first application, hold the Shift key and click on the last application.

To choose several separated applications: hold the Ctrl key and click on the desired apps.

To select all files: Click the Select All button.

5. You must specify whether the files are to be transferred to/from your unit’s main RAM memory or the IC card. Click the RAM/CARD screen button to toggle between the two choices. If you don’t use IC cards, both sides of the window should be toggled to RAM.

If you use IC cards: Keep in mind that RuppLynx creates a separate file for the data you store in the main memory of your unit, and the data you store on a card. When transferring files:

a. On the left side of the screen, use the toggle to select data that RuppLynx has stored or will store as coming from your unit’s RAM or CARD.

b. On the right side of the screen, use the toggle to select whether the files will be transferred to/from your unit’s RAM or CARD.

c. Set your hand-held unit to send/receive data to/from your main memory
or a card.

6. To transfer files from your hand-held unit to your PC, click the Transfer button on the right of the screen with the arrow that points toward the PC menu. To send files from your PC to your hand-held unit, click on the Transfer button on the left of the screen with the arrow that points toward the hand-held unit’s menu.

Note: If you have problems establishing the link with your PC, or you get an error message like ‘Organizer not connected or responding,’ read the Troubleshooting section on page 66.

To solve other problems, click on the Help button.

7. When you have finished transferring data, click on the Done button to return to the Main Window.

Transferring PC Files (Zaurus Only)

To transfer files to or from the PC Files Area of a Zaurus, click on the Transfer PC Files screen button at the lower left of the window. A list of files currently stored in your Zaurus appears to the right; files stored in your PC are shown on the left. Highlight the file(s) to be transferred, then click on the appropriate Transfer button.
