Linking Entries (Zaurus Only)

As with the Zaurus, you can link an entry in RuppLynx to another entry in Contacts or Data files. Creating these links gives you one-click access to vital facts and phone numbers. For instance, after you enter an appointment, you can link that entry to the Contact entry containing the name, phone number and address of the person you are meeting.

How to link an entry to a Contacts or Data file

1. From the Application Editor, open the entry you want to link.

2. Click on the Links menu and select Link to Contacts... or Link to Data Files...

3. The Link to Entries window will appear. Start by choosing the file that contains the entry you wish to link (I.e. Contacts 1,2 or 3) from the menu at the upper left of the screen.

4. To speed your search of the entry you need, you can choose the field by which the entries are sorted. Simply click on the first field name box, and a menu of all the fields will appear. Select the field you want to search by. If you like, you can also change the other fields in the same way. You can also drag the field column separators to show more or less of a particular field. The indexed view can be scrolled left/right to show any fields that are not currently on display.

5. When you find the entry (or entries) which you want linked, click the box to the left of each entry.

How to go to a linked entry

When you view your entries in index mode, a symbol will appear to the far right of each entry that is linked, indicating whether the entry is linked to a contact or data file. Click on the symbol to go to the linked entry.

Breaking Links

From index mode, select the entry from which you want to break all links. From the Links menu, select Break All Links and all links to the current entry will be broken.
